Anniversary ideas ?

Our 25th anniversary is on 2/4. I would like to get a small gift for my husband, but am really at a loss what it could be. Ideas? I've thought of giving him a new wedding band as he lost his years ago and we never replaced it. Would this be a silly idea? We've not usually exchanged gifts over the years or really made a big deal out of anniversaries, but I feel this year is special. We can't to a weekend getaway as my daughter's birthday is the 3rd. She was our gift 14 years ago.

Since we've not done "celebrations" in the past, do I plan something, or wait and see if DH remembers (LOL)?

How have you celebrated an anniversary?

I think buying him a new wedding band would be the perfect gift!!! You could maybe make a little basket of "Love". Pretty basket, lined with silver tissue paper and tie silver streamers on the handle. Inside the basket put scented candles, wine glasses, bottle of wine or champayne, CD or tape of your & his "song", body oils or bubble baths (he he he), etc etc. I did this for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and they just loved it. I also sent off for a copy of their marriage certificate!! (Yep, it was still on microfilm in SC where they got married) You could make a copy of your marriage certificate or get a new copy, and roll it up like a little scroll and tie with a silver ribbon! :) And of course put the new ring inside the basket!!!! :)
You are blessed to have been able to be married for this long. I was widowed after 4 1/2 years of marriage and would give anything to have been able to grow old with him! You are blessed indeed, so make that hubby of yours feel special on this milestone anniversary!!!! :)

oh, I think it would be a WONDERFUL gift. And we always celebrate anniversaries. More in the past...(bc...before children) than now...but we make it a point to go out to dinner alone...well, together alone I mean (sometimes, alone alone sounds good!LOL!) We've been married 10 years and I love him now more than ever. 25 is a fabulous reason to celebrate!

I don't know how hard this would be but could you buy a box of fortune cookies and replace their paper fortunes with your own? Then you could write 25 reasons why you love him and put on reason in each cookie.
I loved Janets basket idea and think the ring is a lovely idea.
We've been married 18 years in June and rarely celebrate with gifts but 25 years is special and I'd definately give him a gift. Sue.

I actually got a basket last year. He worked with a lady he works with to fill it up with all my faves. Chardonnay, with glasses. Scented candles and candlesticks. A pretty nighty. A little chocolate. It was basically little bits of all my faves. So you could build the same basket for DH.

Thank you all for you replying and wonderful ideas! Do have good news. I didn't really think DH would remember, but he mentioned the day was coming up! I'm actually getting excited now.

I went yesterday and picked out a ring. Hope he likes it. Now off today to see what fun things I can find to put in a basket. You've all given me some great ideas to start with and I've been working on the 25 reasons list. TREKaren - You're a lucky lady! Keep that thoughtful, romantic hubby of yours.

    Thanks again!
