To give you some background. . .I redid our kitchen in 2004 with fancy cabinets (Kitchen Craft) and KitchenAid appliances.

I've recently posted about the problems I've been having with my KitchenAid appliances.

Here's an update: I needed a new motor for my KA dishwasher and KA fridge - ice maker - (most likely due to the fact I had neglected to regularly clean out the filter on the bottom of my fridge.) I also needed a new motor for my KA dishwasher. That was because I put a glass jar of peanut butter (empty) into the DW and a piece of glass ended up jamming the DW motor.

My appliance repairman friend showed me how I--the least handy person on earth--could order a new motor for my ice-maker and install it myself. And I did replace it all by myself! Big cheers for Robert from A&S.

So. . . it appears both problems might have been from user error, not any lack of quality on KitchenAid's part.
