Simple Mardi gras table setting

I did another table setting - hope you guys are not getting bored with my simple tables.

I dont have much in terms of Mardi gras decor and could not find any in the stores. I just used whatever I had around the house that was purple and green which was not much! I didnt even have any purple scrap fabric in my stash!!

Details - I have already shown the dishes here before - got the salad plates in the after Xmas sale at Pier-1. The gold tray is stolen from my coffee table that I originally got at a garage sale. The shiny purple vase is something DH had before I married him; its a souvenir from MGM studios. The masks are from after Halloween sale - wish they had purple sequins though!! Maybe next year... and I need purple placemats for next year too.

I am planning on making jambalaya for dinner. :)

Very nice, Mo. Everything goes very well together, and it all goes with your Mardi Gras theme so well. - Gail

Bored? No way! I'm excited to see you searching and using what you can find and having fun posting pics of your tables for us to enjoy. Isn't it fun?

I have to get a new memory stick for my camera because mine is full. As soon as I do I will post my Valentine's table. I took a tip from Tam Gypsy and I'm keeping my table set all month. We wash what we use and put it back on the table to enjoy it longer. It took me almost the whole month to gather everything to finish it. I'm still tweeking it! This is the first table that I keep changing the centerpiece. If I have time, I may take pics of all of them, show y'all, and then decide which is the best. Y'all have great taste and won't steer me wrong.
    Waiting for your next tablescape.

Mo, your MG table turned out great. Even by "shopping your house" you were able to find items in all the appropriate colours for your centerpiece. That is being thrifty and creative - a great combo! Did you sew the detail on the napkin edge? Nice touch!

Mo, the table looks great! And you had everything in your 'stash'? Do you have a piece of fabric, extra napkins, pashima/wrap, drapery panel, throw, etc., or something colorful to put under the centerpiece? Don't forget spray paint or glitter glue next year. You can make anything the color you want! ;o)

I am so impressed that you had those colored ornaments and the pretty vase on hand already. I love your salad plates, the rim design is so pretty. So did you do the decorative band around the candle, and the pretty design on the napkins just for this table. Everything sure worked together well, good job Mo. ;o) Luvs

Thank you guys! I really would never have been trying these settings if it wasn't your encouragement and help!

Thanks Gail and Kathleen. Kathleen, I am nearing that stage of 'Dont know where to store X' already! And I dont even have that much..

Betty, cant wait to see your Valentine's table!! Esp the pink dishes you were telling us earlier. It is fun but I have a long ways to go. This table, esp, looks pretty empty.

DD & Luvs - yes, I cut out a fleur-de-lis freehand, thats why its so wonky(!) and used interfacing or whatever its called to attach it to the napkins. And yes, I stuck that scrap fabric on a white candle - guilt! :)

Patty cakes - you are right. I wasnt planning on doing a Mardi gras table until this weekend so I didnt have time to make/paint anything. Next year, for sure! I really needed a purple fabric/scarf under the tray too. Well, something to buy.. :) And Pier-1 has purple beaded placemats on sale - I should go in there next week.
