New Appliances-HELP

I am redoing kitchen Need to purchase all new appliances. Looking at SS in all.

DW- Kitchenaid vs Whirlpool

Cooktop - Opinion? Looked at Bosch NET9652UC. Not familiar with any as have never had Cooktop. Also looked at GE products - Profile, Monogram. Consumer Reports liked GE and Kenmore? They are not that helpful.

Wall Oven (single with convection) - Again Bosch HBL5045AUC vs another brand. Only one review on this Bosch that I could find. Looked at GE Profile and issues with self cleaning?

Fridge- Whirlpool Gold ?

New Cabinets Throughout and Granite Countertops

So many opinions on all. Primarily concerned with ease of usage, dependability and repair issues.

Any help greatly appreciated at Contractor is ready to do Cabinet for cooktop and wall oven. Am open to opinions of people who have experience as I have not purchased.

I'm having to make some of the same decisions. Some things I discovered:

Whirlpool owns many brands including Amana, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air and makes appliances for Kenmore, Home Depot, and even Viking (free standing fridge). I just looked at a bunch of fridges and other than the finish, they were pretty much identical inside, although the Amana fridges had cheaper shelving and the Viking fridge I saw had slide-out shelves.

I would imagine for the DW, it is the same situation so your KitchenAid or Whirlpool question would depend on which one has a nicer finish or upgraded features.

For me, I wish I could narrow down which manufacturer would be the most reliable as all the reviews I've found all seem to rate them all as somewhat problematic in one way or another.

Thanks for getting back to me. Think have settled on Samsung CD SS fridge. Went and looked and liked interior, shelving.

Am considering also Bosch Evolution series or KA dishwasher.

Have you looked at ovens or cooktops. That is where I am having the most trouble.

Anyone had any experience with the Bosch Units I listed in my post?

Be aware that top and mid of line Bosch DW are different from BOL ones. So Evolution 500 and 800 would be OK.

In case of Evolution 300 check that the *whole tub* is stainless steel. Latest european budget Bosch models have a plastic sump matched with stainless walls and ceiling.

IMHO this seam between plastic and stainless steel can cause some issues, cause heat may expand them in a different way (possible leakages ?)

Otherwise I can't explain why on this forum some people are very happy with Bosch DW while others report scary stories

Also be aware that every euro DW have a 153°F last rinse to heat the load that much to get dry. There's no heating element operating in the drying step, so rinse aid is mandatory

hidroman thanks for info. I think I am leaning toward a KA DW. Just not sure which model.

What do you know about Bosch ovens? 30 in. Wall Oven Bosch HBL5045AUC (I think this one is discontinued) vs another brand. 36 in. Bosch NET9652UC cooktop?

My contractor likes KA for DW, Oven, Cooktop. My brother just redid all of his appliances and likes KA. Got a package deal. I am not into doing all the same for appliances. It seems like people aren't as pleased with KA as they used to be. They are expensive to repair also? as I have heard Bosch are.

To tell the truth it seems like a toss up sometimes. This is my first experience having to do this for a long time and products have changed. Any insight?

Haha. Days after responding to your post and not noting the wall oven you asked about, I was shopping for my appliances today and they had a brand new Bosch HBL5045AUC on sale for $1900 that I ended up buying. It was the last one they had (discontinued model). Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about it yet!
