Try using a small amount of hydrogen peroxide on the spots. I've used it on delicate materials, and it always worked very well.

Blood is a cold water stain. Using hot water will set the stain.

ALways use COLD water on any organic stain...

Oxyclean and Clorox2 work well on protein stains like blood.

I've never had a bit of luck with hydrogen perox. Maybe it works best on fresh blood.

Ammonia also works well, as long as the stain has NOT been through the washer.I keep a small bottle near my washer. (DH's occaionaly has razor nicks and leaves tiny spots on my white towels.)

socks, you're right, hydrogen peroxide does work best if caught fairly soon. I would soak the comforter in cold water.

Okay learned this while giving blood...get some contact solution..Pure Saline soltuion and spray that on it (straight from that little hole inthe bottle). It won't fade your comforter or anything and works wonders!!!

I'd be leary of the Oxyclean or Hydrogen Peroxide as they may bleach the comforter...I could be wrong though.

The saline solution really works, although not that great on old blood but fresh blood it disappears before my eyes!! Thx!!!
