I don't do facebook, twitter or any of those, people are crazy if they think they aren't giving out too much info on those forums!

Saw a private detective on TV here a few weeks ago & he said if you have a facebook account, he can find out where you live, where you work, what your kids names are, where you go, with whom etc. within a few days. Scary, but people are so naive about these things!!

ugh! I joined FB a few months ago looking for someone who said I could only reach them through there. I didn't know what I was getting into, and wish I had never joined! and worse, I did it with my every-day email address -- not realizing how they handled such things. I get spammed regularly now. :(

Like PM and Y, I don't do any of those either. I know to many people that are addicted to those sights. And besides, I have to save what free time I have for my GW forums.

I can waste enough time on the net without getting involved in everything there is. Of course I'm a *dinosaur* and won't text or lots of other things. I do have a cell phone but don't use it much. I'm really in the dark ages! And that's where I want to stay. :-)

Yachter, I didn't get anything but rarely check my email. I have never had an interest in much more than being here on the net.

I have a facebook page but I never fill out a detailed profile when asked for this type of information. A lot of people put their city of residence, the name of their spouse and children, where they work, etc. and that is pointing the way to your house! I work for an advertising/reputation management/acquisition firm and we also do a lot of social media for our clients because this is a great way to connect and get info out there about your business. But those of us who use twitter, facebook, and the rest really should be cautious of what we publish.

Take it from someone who's opened one of those and lived to regret it . . . never open those things! Mine was from %*@!! Chinese hackers who then got into my Hotmail address book and started sending everyone on it bogus messages from "me" to "check out this wonderful site that I love". I am still so angry about that!
