thank you !!!!!!

OTC here, just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the prayers for Jason's eyesight.

Jason woke suddenly able to see again. I am stunned at how fast the eye drops and YOUR prayers worked. We all thought he'd be blind in the one eye for several more weeks and his vision would come back slowly.. But it came back fully as sudden as it went away.

I'm so happy I could burst.

hugs, Karen

Oh Lord! What a joy to hear such a wonderful news!

I am so happy for him... and for you as a mother is still very concerned for her children and the tragedies they suffered.
    It's a miracle!

So glad his eyesight has improved so dramatically. The concept of a loss of sight is, I think, so scary. He, too, must just be overjoyed.

Glad there are so many joys popping up this spring. :)

Karen - Just think of the progress his eye has made...its gone from sleeping to napping and woke up refreshed like any good nap does.
Hopefully if he has another - it will just be a "power" nap! :-)

    Great news to hear!

That's great news Karen, I know you have been so worried about him. I like the way Jim described it--like that eye needed a bit of a rest and is awake and ready to go again! Let's just pray it doesn't happen again, just so scary for all concerned! Luvs

Yes, Jim was so right about Jason's eye needing a nap. I have held on to that thought with all my heart. (thank you, Jim, it meant a lot to me.)
This is probably the 4th time in the last few years its happened, and the previous time was 8 months ago. First it was thought him working such long hours as a Homicide Det and wearing the two pair of contacts was the culprit. 8 hrs in should be maximum and sometimes he was at a scene for 12 hours or more, then had to go and do all the paperwork. So he chose medical retirement to save his sight. Then last year this happened for no reason and he was blind in one eye a few months.
I think what really scares me is the possibility he could someday totally lose his sight. This LEFT eye was the LEAST damaged one, during the first couple of years his right eye was so hard to get functioning. His eyelids had burned off and he had no tear ducts. So you can imagine the importance of those two things. Plus his corneas were burned somewhat. They healed, but so many surgeries to rebuild eyelids. So many months of him having both eyes SEWN shut. It was a horrible time. I guess I feel Jas has suffered more than any one should have to physically, and he deserves only good things now. However he's more realistic than I am and knows his eyes, and also his hands, may not last too many years. The doctors expect severe, crippling arthritis in his hands someday. No one knows about his eyes, other than corneal transplants are NOT an option with him. I just honestly can't bear him to go thru any more traumatic things. At least I know he has the courage, strength, spirit, and Suzie at his side to handle whatever he has to. I once read that "Love Lifts Us Up", well that is more than true in their case.

anyway, excuse me for so much personal chat here.
love you all for the support and prayers and big hearts you have.

Oh my goodness. Karen,I am so happy He is able to see again.
And don't apologize for sharing more with us. It helps us to be more specific in our prayers for Jason and Suzie. What a miracle he truly is. And what an encouragement he is to anyone who hears just this little bit of what he has been through and come out of the other side.
God's Blessings to you all and my prayers will be that he will continue to improve beyond what is thought possible.
