LG Appliance Dependability

What is the consensus on the dependability of LG appliances, specifically the dishwashers? I am looking at buying the LDF7932ST which has a lot of nice features, including the steam option, and is on clearance at my local big box store. How does this unit compare to a similarly priced Bosch or KitchenAid unit? anyone here using this dishwasher? The concern that I have is long term reliability. I am not sure if I am getting a a great value with the closeout price if I am not going to get the longevity that I would with another brand that has a proven track record. Anyone here owned an LG dishwasher, or any other LG appliance, for a while now and care to comment? I have been told that this dishwasher is one of the highest rated by CR, but it is the reliability that makes me hesitant. Thanks in advance for any responses.

We have had an LG DW for a year. It is not the steam model, but it does have the hidden controls, LDF6920ST. We also considered Bosch and KA, but we liked the features of the LG. We wanted the hidden panel plus all stainless tub. We got a great price, but all the other ones were comparably priced.

The first time we turned it on, the dryer was running, and we couldn't even tell it was running. It is very quiet and cleans great. It holds probably 50% more dishes than our old one.

Long-term reliability, I don't know, but we did buy an extended warranty.

FYI, I just got a new Consumer Reports today, and apparently LG is rated the bottom of the DW's. F&P is right above it.

Oh well, we've had no problems and hope it continues.

Maybe in retrospect we should've bought the Kitchenaid, Bosch, or Whirlpool, but we did buy an extended service plan FWIW.

With all appliances, there is no guarantee you will not have problems even with a reliable brand.
