Who painted dark charcoal? Like it?

I just installed Stainmaster 6010 (slate-looking) flooring in laundry/bath and am leaning toward painting walls dark charcoal with warm cream trim. Has anyone painted a smallish (10X18) room that dark? I have white Lacava sink and white Kohler toilet and lots of woodwork will be the white color -- am almost brave enough but would love either affirmation or sanity check (with photos would be fabulous!)

I have a Stairwell that is 6x6 and an adjoining hallway that is about 4x9 painted BM Black Jack, with off-white trim. The floors are almost ebony. I do have a good bit of artwork in the stairwell itself so that offsets the near black somewhat. There is almost no natural light, so since it was dark anyway, I intensified it.

In this second photo is a hidden jib door I designed for the closet.

Wow, that is reassuring! It looks gorgeous! Thank you so much. That is the drama I'm hoping for and if mine turns out this good I'll be thrilled!
