Help me with tile design.

My wife and I are remodelling our master bath. We will be buying tile in the next week or so. I need to finalize the design so could really use some opinions.

The bathroom is 8x13. No tub, only an 8 foot by 4 foot shower. The shower is faces you when looking in through the door. On the left wall are to vanities, very open, just the counter with a shelf at the bottom. To the right is an amoire which will dub as a linen cabinet and a pocket door to walk-in closet. Toilet is just to the right of the bathroom door so it is hidden when you have the door open. Hope that helps set the mood.

We are thinking of using 18x18 travertine tiles for the floor. We will be tiling the walls up to about 42". Also, the entire shower will be tiled including ceiling. My idea is to use 8x16 tiles on the walls, running a band of smaller tile from 32"-42" around the entire bathroom, including the shower. In shower I will continue to run the 8x16 up the wall. Shower floor will be either 2x2 or 4x4 tiles.

Another option is to use 12x12 tiles on the walls in place of the 8x16. And yet another option we thought of is to use 6x6 tiles in place of the larger tiles on the shower walls and then do either the 8x16 or 12x12 tiles for the wainscoting.

Could really use some input on which you would go with. We want to keep the room feeling clean but not boring.

BTW, we will be using a light colored travertine with the walnut or noce for the accent tile.
