Kathleen, thanks for sharing some pics with us. All the food looks yummy. Is that a fruit torte of some kind - looks like a good dessert for July 4th! Wow, your DH makes muffins and they look fabulous! Your blue & white table setting looks so calm and serene. Love the windchime too!

Oh, Kathleen, I love the purple pic. Are the veggie plates new ones? They are so neat! Your placemat and napkin really pulled out the color of the eggplant. DD is right, the blue one looks cool and serene--perfect for the hot spell hitting your area now, huh? Love the little watering can napkin rings too. Very pretty MD chime. Love the soft colors on it. Are your hydrangeas blooming now? I have a pink one blooming. And the food--you guys sure do eat well--makes me drool just seeing your pics. Thanks for sharing. Luvs

DD, it is a yellow cake, made in a pan that has an indentation..cream cheese icing and fruit.

    Tonight's..

    Yummy!!!
Are you surviving the heat?? We are getting reports down here about your miserably high temps...I'm thinkin' 'bout 'cha girl!! That is TOOOOOOOO hot for Yankeeland!

Ohh! I really like the black/white/red, looks so sophisticated! You sure have lots of pretty glasses and napkin rings too Kathleen. Luvs

Love the red, black and white, so striking. It would be great, Kathleen if you turned this post into another one where we get to see how you set the table every night - I so enjoyed your last one.

I'll try DD! I worked outside all day, so this was a simple one..

Shrimp with angel hair and snow peas in wine and lemon sauce...

Kathleen, your idea of "simple" is mind-blowing to me.
Love those little napkin rings, sure made me smile!

    hugs, Karen

Me too! Those little napkin rings are just so darn cute. ;o) Gosh lady, how do you come up with so many new ideas for meals? Your food always looks so yummy. I had tacos from Taco Bell tonight and those paper wrappers they come in are sure nothing to brag about! LOL Luvs

Well, I felt like those napkin rings, crabby! I worked too long outside, and felt exhausted!
You could have tied a bow on those taco bell wrappers, Luvs.
Karen, happy you smiled, it is good for you!

Thanks Kathleen for letting us see your food and table setting another night! You are amazing...the only way we would get a meal like that after working outside all day would be to go to a restaurant. Your napkin rings are adorable, brings a bit of whimsy to the table and they went with your seafood menu. Can't wait for tomorrow night....

Chinese style pork, with rice snow peas etc..

That looks totally yummy, I even like the PINK setting.
LOL. I want to come to dinner. Now. Tomorrow. Next week. Next Month. I'm getting desperate.....can you send me a doggy bag?

    hugs from hungry ol' Karen

Kathleen, thanks again for not disappointing us! Am I correct in thinking your pretty pink plates have an Asian type pattern on them which of course, went well with your Chinese style pork....you are very coordinated! The food looks delicious as always! I'm with Karen, can we expect our invitations soon? (great pic, Karen LOL!)

Another pretty setting! Love those little roses in the vase, are they from your yard? You have lots of different styles of glassware too. Everything is just lovely. (Where on earth do you store all this????) Luvs

Kathleen, could you send me the shrimps, please?

In fact, it's time to go to sleep here (11:30 PM) and now I'm hungry!!!!!!!

By the way, I LOVE your mother's day gift! It's splendid!

All of the place settings look nice and all of that food looks soooo very good, as usual!

Karen, you are pretty handy with that knife!!

LOL, Mary, I figure that is great photo for me....with my lack of cooking talent, I could p--- off a dinner roll.
Awhile back, a friend sent me pix of food "sculptures" and I promptly decided some people have entirely too much time on their hands. LOL. But this bread photo tickled me to no end, so I saved it. Now I know why. Kathleen!!!!

    hugs, Karen

Laughing at Karen and her picture :^)
Kathleen, it's not fair to have luscious looking food AND transferware!!! Even the napkin ring has a piggy looking snout, eyes and ears, to go with the meal!!! Too cute!!
    Hugs,

    Jay, that's a conch shell!!!
This isn't dinner, but I brought this for the bbq yesterday..clam puffs, iced brownies, and a spinach salad, you know what that looks like.
And here's the nose gay I made for Lily's dance recital...

Yummy! Lucky father(s) who got to partake in those creations and your nosegay is beautiful, I'm sure Lily loved it.

Yummy looking food! Bet the kids loved those iced brownies too. Very pretty nosegay too, I'm sure your GD felt very special when you gave it to her. Love your wicker chairs too, those are gorgeous. Luvs

    iknewthat....:^)

The food is good looking, but the nosegay is a work of art!!! Beautiful!

    Thanks gals...
My son took this down from his new house and it was in the dumpster...I sprayed it black, and dh will hang it tomorrow in the gazebo...I'll use it with votives..

These mats my friend gave me for my bday...I really need to find navy plates at the dollar store..but I used white..
The cole slaw is in blue glass flower pot shaped votive cups..

    My lilies are blooming!

Love the chandy, so glad you rescued it! It will be just perfect with votives and will look really "classy". So many good, useable things just get thrown away don't they? Just wait until your son sees what you've done with it.

I've sure seen allot of beach/seaside themed items this year. Didn't notice that many last year. Your new mats are really pretty. Nice to have a friend who knows the kinds of things you really like. ;o)

Pretty lillies too, sure allot of blooms in one cluster.

    Luvs

Thanks, Luvs. I told him how well it came out, but he said not to worry, he didn't want it back! LOL..
Yes, the lilies are very hardy this year.
    Where is everyone?

Must all be eating outside on paper plates--nothing to take pictures of I guess! LOL Guess everyone is getting busy now that they can be outside doing things and going places. I sure haven't been motivated to do much lately--I think about doing something fun, but don't follow through. It may be hard to keep our board active. We need more people like you who love to cook and serve meals at a pretty table! ;o) Luvs

    Thanks, Luvs...
I haven't cooked since last Wed. We were gone, and then last night we had dinner at a friend's.
Tonight I made corned beef, potaoes and cole slaw. Good to make , simmered while I worked outside...

    Kathleen,
Great tablesetting and food as usual you leave me drooling :)

Another feast for the eyes....yummy! Your yellow table setting looks very bright and cheery. I don't think I've seen those plates before, they are pretty.

That looks like a wonderful chandeliere you rescued and painted. Have you got it hung in your gazebo yet? I know I love having ours up even when it is not lit, it adds a touch of "elegance" to the outdoors.

    DD

Oh, my gosh, I want some! That corned beef looks so yummy!

Love the white platter, and at first I thought you had used multiple napkins, then realized it is just one but has all those pretty colors on it. I also love all the little bowls you have--they are so cute.

I always said I was not a "yellow" fan, but have to admit that I love it on the table. Just so bright and cheery. ;o)
