employee pricing

Has anyone bought any appliance from a store with you pay what employees pay? How much do you really save? PC richards has this sale going on now. I was wondering if it is worth trying.

It depends on the store and the brand. It usually ranges form 10-50%.

Of course it's worth trying if you're eligible for the discount. The price will be quoted up front and you can order or not just like a regular customer. Now that said, the price you get for that fridge may or may not be less than you can get A fridge for on the open market, and it might actually be more than an exact unit that is out of the carton or scratch and dent someplace else.

Any "employee pricing" that's extended to the general public isn't going to be all that great, especially if you're a good shopper. It should be considered in you descision though.

As someone who knows the PC Richards deal fairly well the employee pricing was the "real deal". The prices were much better than you would normally get (even if you "know" someone there). That being said, the "Designer" kitchen appliances were not discounted as they were not allowed to reduce the prices to the general public. If you were looking for some electronics though I was quite surprised at the discounts on several items.

Sub Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Bosch, and all the high end product that has UMRP pricing will not be eligible for employee pricing

How about Electrolux, Employee Pricing available on that?

guadalupe- "Sub Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Bosch, and all the high end product that has UMRP pricing will not be eligible for employee pricing"..............

NOT TRUE at all, SZ/Wolf and Thermador/Gaggenau have one of the better programs in the industry. It' is very hard to qualify, your "buddy", cousin, sister in law , or aggressive salesman isn't going to be able to "get you a deal" with it. But, those firms take care of their own for employees and good dealers. That said the products are still expensive and still beyond many people's budgets.

Animal - why don't you ask your employer if there is a discount on Electrolux? These programs are not set up as a sales tool for the manufacture to sell more units to the public. It is a reward to loyal insiders.
