Have you checked the racks and operating manuals? There are some dishwashers that will take glasses on the bottom rack as well as the top. Many are quiet, though some say that the quiet ones sacrifice some cleaning power.

One thing to be sure of if you're running loads with a lot more glassware than china is whether they'll dry well. For energy savings, the new dishwashers either don't have a heated dry (all the European ones), or encourage you not to use it. They rely on the heat of the wash water staying in the stainless steel tub walls, pots, flatware and china. If you have a lot of glasses, especially thin ones, and not much of the rest you may want to make sure you have a heated dry option. (For my own purposes the gentle heated dry on the Viking was inadequate and I had to trade it for a Monogram.)

Your best bet, probably, would be to take a box of glasses to the showroom and check how they load into various models to see which ones let you put in more. Sometimes the shapes of the glasses, vis-a-vis the racks, as much as the sizes, determine how many will fit.
