Mightyanvil- I do not see a way to pm/email you,I don't want to take over a thread that someone started- I have some questions on a response that you wrote....this is about the smallhouse plans that someone was looking for.

When a porch was mentioned, you said no porch- I assume that was for cost control?? You said use 8-0 rolling doors- do you mean 8ft patio doors? I also am wanting to build (if my home in Wyoming will ever sell in this poor economy...). I want to build a small 28ftx28ft2 or so 'home'. I am also trying to come up with the simplest plan, as I now have a 20000ft2 home, and do not get around as easily after an accident. I have mentioned before that I am thinking about using a metal framed 'roof'- the kind that you would use for a barn/storage.I want to do this on a few acres- it may incorporate a barn under the same roof. It would be a simple sloped roof. I want the metal supports. I am thinking about using commercial type windows- like a storefront. Would that make sense? Or am I wrong- would that type be more expense than a decent house window of same size? I think I can finish it if the shell/wiring plumbing/concrete floor is in place, as it will be very, very simple. Anyway, I was reading the other thread and wondered about a couple things you mentioned.

I have several books- trying to gain knowledge regarding how to use materials to the best advantage, ie, having the height of a wall the same height as the 4x8 or 4x9 or 10 drywall- not to cut another foot or so off a second piece of materials- use materials as they are . Do you, or anyone recommend any other books on 'the simplest method'? Thank you.
