It is my understanding that the detergent ALONG with the dishwasher is what truly CLEANS the dishes. Just because there was no visible food on the dishes does not make them clean. IMHO your dishes were simply rinsed well.

Why did they stop selling them? That's where we'd gotten ours, too.

luvmylg, I may disagree. I assume the OP has a Miele or why would she be using Miele tabs. The detergent is mainly there to cut the grease, not as an anti-bacterial agent.

If her dishes are clean and grease free, the temperature in the Miele was probably high enough to kill anything. In fact it has been recommended to me by Miele themselves to only use a 1/2 of one tablet when running the normal cycle.

And if you want to make sure and the plates aren't greasy, you could use the sanitize cycle which gets even hotter.

luvmylg, I never said I didn't re-wash the dishes, bowls, and glasses with detergent before using. And while I'm not in Raleigh, I'd be grateful if you send some of the area's delicious BBQ up my way.

cat mom, I'm sorry to say I didn't ask about why ABT stopped selling the Miele tabs. Their salesperson was very nice, recommending I try the Henkel tabs and mentioning that Miele's tabs are available for purchase via Miele's website (I'm going to see if I can get them from a local merchant first).

Her dishes, loves2cook4six? I thought my wife and I shared our dishes equally. She lets me break the Miele tabs in half, though. The Henkels don't seem to part as easily.

Thanks! I think we still have a bunch of tabs left, but if not, I'll order them from Miele if I can't find them locally.
