It's a little small, too. Is it 4x6? You could easily go with bigger, 7x9...

I would also go with either a lot less or a lot more color and pattern.

It looked even smaller, yes, you can easily go with a 8x10.

Need to add 24" all around the table for chair scoot and sitting. That would be an oval rug 48" longer and wider than your table, or a square one equally large.

An 8x10, definitely , go to a quieter pattern, maybe even a tone on tone. I suggest you take the plant off the sideboard,it is a very old fashioned idea and takes away from the piece, Use it as a centerpiece on you table instead .The size of it is more appropriate to the size of the table than the dainty little items on it now. It is a lovely room, and will look great after the changes.

Table dimensions are 45 x 69 inches, 8 x 10 rug will butt against the hutch, room is 11 by 12, plants removed as suggested. Photos attached are of the seat cover and items in the hutch, also of the window treatment. Any suggestions as to color and style of rug and window treatment? Thank you!

Everything looks great, if 8x10 butts against the hutch, move the rug 4-5 inches, you will not see the difference on the other side without an eagle eye.

Do a neutral blending rug that becomes a subtle foundation without becoming the focus (see first 2 that Aggie suggested) - especially with your pieces in hutch. Also one large item as centerpiece- better than many small - it all gets lost with too many details.

About Xmas decor I have hung Xmas bird ornaments off my chandelier and it looks festive, I would buy some (good fakes) poinsettias and red ribbon bows and intersperse them in the green centerpiece.

this one looks much better...better size, colours, and what a beautiful more updated pattern.
