lost my desktop shortcut for dial-up service

hmmm...I thought I had asked about this (or something similar b4) but don't find it on a search here.

Anywho, my desktop shortcut to dial-up is missing and I don't know how to get it back. In fact now I have no known way to even get on dial-up at all presently in the event my high speed goes down (which it has a habit of doing sometimes) So, where do I go now to get on dial-up?

Ok...then for that matter, how do I go to get on dial-up now? Where do I go to look for what? I feel like I'm backsliding on what I used to know. My control panel now has 34 items listed (confusing) and it used to have 6 catagories, which I liked. How do I get it back to the 6 catagories? See...I'm losing it...sigh....

How do I get it back? I have XP and use Firefox.

Check in the control panel under network connections for your dial up icon. To get back to your categories click on 'switch to category view' on the left side of the control panel.

Ok...done...now have shortcut...Thanks!

I used to be able to do that, but now there are the 34 things on a white screen, with nothing to the left of them.
I have a choice of seeing them as
thumbnails
tiles
icons
list
or
details
when I click on 'View' at the top of the control panel

What now brown cow?

Per Mikie elsewhere...
If that left margin isnt showing look under view and I think the left margin can be enabled there.

I did something under view (set to default maybe?) and anyway, I now have the choice back on the left. It does however look different than it used to. Maybe it is updated, or needs updated...but at least it is similar to what I had b4.
