Fall decorations

I don't do the pretty table settings but let me tell you...you gals are really pushing me towards it - all your settings in the other thread are soooooo pretty and inviting :) Here are some of my fall vignettes. I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures of them this year and by next weekend they will be history. I hope you enjoy.....

Thanks for sharing, Lynne. I think, LOL. My ears just perked right up at a Fall VILLAGE. Oh my, something else to spend money on I'm thinking. That is darling.
All your vignettes are really cute and I'm glad you thought to post them for us.

Karen - fall village houses are hard to find if you don't want them screaming of Halloween. I don't do Halloween and just want the fall/harvest scene. Most of those came from JoAnn Fabrics years ago - I am always on the lookout for some new ones - Glad you liked it.....

lynn..I agree, I like your vignettes too. I like the one w/the pumpkins and turkeys. Also, that tray looks interesting. Any closeups of it? You have a nice fall village display. Outside of Dept56 which has fall..I haven't seen any others with just that. I like the fact that you don't have to put it up just for Halloween and that can get to enjoy it much longer.

Very nice, Lynn, I'm glad you thought to take pics to share with us. Something about Fall decor just seems so "homey" to me. I like putting out my Fall items then adding the Halloween, then taking it away and just leaving the Fall things until I'm ready to start on Christmas decorating. Fun to change things up a bit around the house, isn't it? Luvs

Jane - that tray was a Salvation Army find - 99cents - thanks to this forum I have started frequenting such places and that just called to me - perfect fall colors ....

Lynne, your fall vignettes and wreath are so pretty! Like you, i'm fairly new to the 'thrift store scene', and have kicked myself many times for not starting earlier. I have enjoyed local fleamarkets and estate sales, as well as discount stores for my bargain hunting. Thank you for sharing! ;o)

I enjoyed seeing your pictures, you did a great job on them. It makes me think I need to do more for Thanksging (fall decorting). I can't imagine trying the table settings but I sure have seen some beautiful ones here. I have four china cabinets full so I have alot to start if I ever find some extra time. My husband would think I was having an affair or worse it he came home and I had something that beautiful waiting. LOL

Lynne, I checked eBay last night and saw some Thanksgiving/Fall village pieces. Tho they are a bit pricey, with shipping. I'll watch for some on there and on shopgoodwill.com tho. Bargains come up often both places.

Phonegirl, I don't do tablesettings either (too chicken) but I can imagine the surprise a DH would get who wasn't expecting a shock like that. LOL. Might make things interesting tho, even kindle some romance.

Thank you everyone - I put my fall stuff up on the first day of fall and take it down the Friday after Thanksgiving - I just love the fall look. This year of course I ha ve been sneaking some Christmas here and there but mostly in my living room which I don't decorate for fall so Christmas doesn't look too out of place ....

Lynn..sorry to get back to this so late...I LOVE THAT TRAY!!
It's just beautiful and I can't get over the price. I actually was looking for a tray like this on Ebay..but too expensive. I used to go to the SA all the time when I lived in NY..don't know of any here. I did get so many great things from them at great prices..however, they slowly got wise to 'us' bargain shoppers and started to raise the prices. They got fancy too..calling their collectable section 'Sally's Ally' and charged higher prices for whatever was in there. So happy for you that you got that beautiful tray. Enjoy it.
