bathroom remodel ideas please

I have an older home. Tile 4x4, is in good shape, except for shower, which we had to rip out. So now I need to decide what to do and cheaper is better.

1-rip everything out---too expensive

2-replace shower w/ 4x4 and glaze all tiles white. What would that look like?? What color sink? Walls?? Tile octagons on floor bc glazing would not be good for floor.

3-replace tile in shower and glaze all tiles a different color and then tile to ceiling to make it all look good. Not sure what that would look like w/ different colors etc. Pick a tile for floor and tile on top.

4-do shower w/ some cultured marble and glaze tiles a color to match. Will that look odd?

I have NO idea what to do. May have to sell in a few years so easy to sell will help. Please spam me some ideas!! Or places to get ideas.

Allonmyown, if you would post some pics of your bath here, you will probably get more responses and ideas. If you need help posting let us know.

thanks everyone. I could post a picture, but I don't think it would help. It's just an old 50's bathroom right now!! With shower ripped out.

In our small bathroom with shower we have 4 x 4 tiles up the wall to chair rail height. In our case the shower tile was in great shape so we just replaced the vanity, counter, sink, faucet, med cabinet, vanity light, towel bars and we painted. It looks much better in there now.

In another 1960s bathroom we gutted we used a Swanstone shower/tub enclosure. Here is their website and there are lots of colors and speckled patterns. We had a contractor measure first so I bought the right size from Lowes. I love that there are no tile grout lines to scrub. We chose the color Prairie from their Earth collection because it's manufactured from recycled materials.
I love the tall shower niche we got with it and the way it's finished around the edges. You could fit one up against the 4 x 4 tile you are keeping. Then you don't have to be concerned you aren't matching the tile perfectly. Here is ours:
