Can't get FF to load

My desktop is having a major problem. I can't get on-line, neither IE or FF will load. Screen stays white and shows it is trying to load. Internet wireless connection shows a strong signal. I can't see anything unusual in Task Manager. Tried various things with no luck. Tonight I notice, in the bottom bar it says: waiting for nbcudigitaladops.com.

On my other computer (all other computers are working fine on same signal), I Googled nbcudigitaladops.com. It appears to be some sort of website which tracks users. I am not sure what it is and wonder if anyone knows anything about it.

I ran my scans and all is clean but I can't update anything because I can't get on-line. One of the Google searches shows a connection with IVillage and that site. I tried updating FF to the latest version but can't get connected.

I wonder if that site is blocking my ability to get connected or if it is just a normal tracking thing. Thought I'd check here first before I have someone come to figure out what is wrong. Oh, I did try to connect using Safe Mode and still couldn't connect.

have you tried changing your home page? Youve blocked the portal link with utilities and the site now refuses to progress to load.

I think you need to get rid of "nbcudigitaladops.com", you are not alone with this but there seems no clear consensus about removing it.

As you have scanned and found nothing then consider removing Firefox and all add ons and re-install clean.

You may want to turn modem off and router for 30 seconds, replug modem in wait 30 sec, then plug router in.

Run Ccleaner too. Try making a direct connection to the computer using a cable. Right click the small computer Icons by the clock or the one Icon and choose repair.

Nothing works do a System Restore to yesterday.

That nbcdigital thing loads every time you refresh the Garden Web site.

Just because the wireless shows a strong connection does not mean you can download a web page always. You start to think about a possible DNS issue.

Might right click one of the browser desktop icons and click start without add-ons for ie, or similar with firefox.

Thank you all, I'm still at work but will give all those a try when I get home. Weird part is sometimes when the screen is trying to load and I click on a 'favorite' it opens the site such as this forum. But I can't navigate away from it.

Same thing happens with both browsers. I use Bing as a home page for FF and Google for IE. I don't know what DNS means or what to look for. When looking at the white screen I see that site listed on the bottom tool-bar. All my other machines work fine in the house except this one. I've had connection problems (slow loading) with this machine for a long time. Now its worse.
