retro/classic look refrigerators?

Anyone know of a refrigerator brand that has the hint of a retro or classic look to them? Not interested in spending the $$$ for a Northstar, Smeg or Big Chill ... just want a regular fridge that has a hint of the old style - perhaps rounded corners and gloss white finish (not the textured vinyl). At one point Fridgedaire had an anniversary model that had this look - but I don't think it's being made anymore. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes as a matter of fact I do. The Kenmore Elite CS refrigerator. CS stands for Cold Spot, and they made the refrigerator as a sort of tribute to it. It is a side by side refrigerator and I personally really like the look of it. One cool feature is that you can dispense exactly how much water you need in ounces, liters, or cups.

Not at all what you're looking for, but I have a genuine vintage Westinghouse fridge ca. 1960 or earlier, in my basement wet bar. It says "frost free" on it, but that part is now a big lie. I'm sure this thing is farrrrr from energy efficient, but it still works. We call it our beer fridge. The main reason it is still in service is that the original homeowners kind of built it into the bar area, and no subsequent owners have wanted the bother of ripping out the counters and doorways to remove/replace it.

We are currently planning a massive kitchen reno, and are comtemplating replacing the Westinghouse with our current kitchen fridge, and since there should be plenty of labour on-site, we hope to be able to muscle both units over the counters. Hmmm, I wonder if there are any refrigerator collectors about who would actually PAY us for this unique piece of residential technology???

You know, I'm not sure what brand they were--maybe even Elmira's Northstar, but I have seen retro fridges in Homegoods, of all places. Not a lot and not often, but they had a turquoise stunner for about $750 a month or two ago, so I'd definitely cruise them if you have them in your area.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Will definitely look at the Kenmore. Unfortunately, we don't have any Homegoods stores around here, so I can't check them out. Bummer -- would LOVE a turquoise refrig!

Every once in a while I see 1950s-60s original fridges on Craigslist LA (Wedgwood? Westinghouse?) for about $500. HTH.

LOL! I think it will be very hard to find a turquoise refrigerator, or any appliance. but yea, just go to kenmore.com and look for the CS refrigerator and check it out. i would provide a link but my comp is acting weird right now and it won't load anything on it.
