Another simple tree

This is my TV/ where we are most of our waking hours at home room TV. I simply dont have the talent to do the beautiful garlands and ribbons like you all - just a simple tree with ornaments. The metal bucket will eventually hold gifts but I havent bought any yet. LOL.

DH likes this one especially after I moved it from my original spot which was by the TV to a different corner! :)

I like that. Never saw one of those before. Is it a metal cage that you decorate?

    DD,
Thanks. No, its a gold colored twig tree, again from Pier-1. It has wires and beads on it. Not sure if it was meant to be decorated with ornaments but when I know I am not going to be in town to keep a fresh tree looking good, I end up putting up my ornaments on this one. :)

I'm leaning toward the more simple as I get older, just don't have the energy to put up & take down big trees anymore.

I think simple is still very pretty & this tree is very pretty, like how you raised this one up off the floor!

    Mo,

I have come back to look at this tree several times today (waiting on people...) and I really really like it! I've seen those twig trees several times and always kept myself from buying one because I had no idea what on earth to do with it. By themselves, they would just get lost in the other decorations. BUT.....I can see this in a graduated grouping of three.....crud, my end-of-season shopping list just keeps growing!

    Love it!

Ooooo. I really like it. I might have to do one like it. May I copy you??????

Thanks Alex. You are right - a set of three would look much better. I didnt think of that! It wont even need extra storage if they fit into one another.

OA, I am extremely flattered to be even asked such a question! :)

Thanks. I am going to have to look at them next visit. I probably didn't see it because I try so hard to stay out of the Christmas section and some days it is harder than others.

This is sooo funny...dh and I were at Pier 1 tonight and he pointed out that exact tree to me!! No he didn't buy me one but he knows what I like!!! I really like what you have done with it.

Oh Shoot - I was in a shopping center with a Pier 1 just today and didn't go into it - probably a good thing - I love that look - very simply stated. I love the fact that you kept all the ornaments one color - very nice ....

    Mo,
I came back to look more closely at your tree. Remember, I want to make one like it. (Glad to receive permission, although I know I would have shamelessly stolen the idea had you not replied!)
At any rate, I think you should try using a larger base. Larger in diameter, not height. Maybe you won't like it, but try it.

How unusual. I've never seen one like that before. Do they have silver?

I think it's a very pretty accent tree. I love red, but usually all-red trees are kind of overwhelming. This one is just the right size for that. And of course, I love twigs!

Mo, I like the different sizes and shapes of ornaments you used on it. I can see where the lights would be a bit distracting if it were right next to the television, good that you were able to find another location for it to keep your DH happy. ;o) Luvs

Mo..I like that very much..it's very different. I was at the Christmas Tree Shop a couple of wks ago, and they had them there, in different sizes. I had so much stuff, that I passed it up...now I'm thinking, after seeing yours, how sorry I am.

That's a neat tree, Mo. And I like the one-color scheme on it. That's perfect IMO. I also like Alex's idea of a grouping of three of these in different sizes. I can just "see" it in my head now. So guess I better stay away from Pier 1 if I know what's good for me. LOL.
(I need a bigger house, or at least a bigger storeroom! Tho knowing me, I could make a Castle look crowded)

Thanks for all the kind words!! Betty, I dont know if they have it in silver. In fact, I didnt know they still had this one until bright's comment. I bought this one a couple of years ago.

Slinkey, I bet they are cheaper at the Christmas Tree Shop than Pier1!! :)

OA, you are right. I wanted a bigger diameter table for this atleast for safety. I should try hacking a larger diameter on this table because the other side tables I have are a little too big for it so I left it at this.

Karen, So true about storage. Now, my dishes have officially overflowed into non-dish cabinets! Yikes!!

Thanks Lynne. Pier 1 usually has nice non traditional christmas things so I try to go there the day after christmas! LOL... the blue tree in the other post, I got at about 90% off a couple of years ago.

Mo, Oh, I really like this tree. It is so unusual looking. And I love the bucket of ornies sitting beside it.

Blush, blush.....Mo, I copied your idea and it turned out absolutely amazing!!!!!! I'm guessing that your tree is about 4'.... I hit Garden Ridge today and was able to get a 3', 2' and 1' for $30 for the set... Thank you Thank you Thank you.....brilliant!
