how long have you had the Generac? No one seems to report problems or issues with them, but i know some people must have problems. For the same price and a longer warranty the GE is sounding good. I just wish i could get some better feedback.

Sorry, no specific experience with the GE Generator, per se, but I did note that it uses a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard commercial engine to power the unit. I never liked Briggs motors much, then I got my tractor, a John Deere zero turn with a Vanguard engine. That engine is bullet proof, a real hoss. They are iron sleeved, start easily and run smoothly. From what I hear they last forever. So I would certainly not be afraid of a generator powered by one.

We have the Generac - 3 winters now and no problems at all. Ours is a propane model, with an automatic transfer switch - so far, we've never actually needed to use it, but it went through last winter's severe temperatures and snowfall here in CT and did its weekly test run without a blink.

Sorry for the delay in answering. We've had our Generac for 2 years and it has performed flawlessly. It kicks in after a 10 second or so delay. I would say it's been on some 8 or 9 times since it's been installed, the longest period being about 24 hours straight. Like any generator it requires regular maintenance (oil and filter changes). Other than that, I don't pay any attention to it.

We have had a 17Kw Generac (natural gas) combined with an automatic transfer switch for about 3 years now. In addition to the weekly self-test is has come on automatically a number of times. In fact it saved Christmas dinner when the commercial power failed while I was preparing dinner. It has been Absolutely trouble free - all I do is change the oil and filter and service the battery once a year.

Four of my friends and neighbors have the 14Kw or 17Kw Generac units and none of them have ever had any problems with their units. Great investment - highly recommended

We had a Generac for 20 years and it worked perfectly. Moved into a new house and just had another Generac 22Kw installed. Wouldn't live without it!

Generac - three years - no problems. It's kicked in a few times - once in the dead of winter. We have it serviced annually which isn't cheap but we want it to work when we need it.

I have had a Millbank MG20001 (20kW) for the past decade or so. Except once when I had failed to replace the battery in reasonable time, it has consistently operated as expected. The motor is a Briggs & Stratton 993-cc Vangard V-Twin operating on propane. It had a 4-year warranty.

Transfer switch is by Eaton Cutler-Hammer.

Ditto on dinner saving, except it was my neighbor's holiday dinner that moved to my house.
