That looks like a great idea. I know of several people with the microwave drawers who like them a lot.

Were you planning on getting an electric smoothtop range when you redo your kitchen?

I posted a thread about this range a few months ago (can't find it now to link for you) and the general response was not enthusiastic, more on the theory that the microwave part is likely to fail sooner than the rest of the range (although I'm not so sure that's true these days, when no appliance seems to last as long as one would wish).

There were also some people who pointed out that the regular oven is inconveniently low, if you use your oven much.

Oops, my thread that got responses was in another forum. No replies here--I hope you get more, since I'm still curious about this.

I'm also interested. Anyone have one?

I have the sharp microwave drawer and love it. It did solve the where to put the nuker problem. Also no more reaching above my head to get the hot dish out of the microwave. Hope it holds up well, have only used it for 1 month. Has a cool melt butter or chocolate and soften ice cream feature I am looking forward to using.

Any other feedback specifically on the Sharp Insight Range and especially the functioning of its oven or cooktop?

I'm on the verge of ordering one.

I own one and it is wonderful, my wife had the same complaint about the oven being to low to which I quickly pointed out that no matter what type of oven you have you have to bend down. I would deffinetly reccomend it!

I have a Sharp Range with the microwave drawer. I love it! It came with the apartment I bought and as far as I know has been there at least 20 years so I can vouch that the microwave drawer still funcions perfectly. My question is does Smart still make this particular model or is it discontinued? Also any ideas on how to find a repair person if it does stop working?
