I agree, a bunch of bottles look cluttered. There are a lot of options for shower dispensers...see below

Well, there are certainly some interesting shower dispensers out there. Here is one of the tame ones. There were a couple that weren't exactly family friendly!

A shower dispenser is definitely the way to go. This forum was a great source of ideas for me and the shower dispenser is one that I did not know about before reading here. I went on amazon and ordered the one with the highest number of good reviews/ratings. It is easy to fill and holds 4 liquids. I haven't figured out what the 4th one should be yet (shampoo,conditioner, shower gel, do they make a shaving gel product that is liquid?)

I don't think a dispenser will work for me. I won't remember which is which and besides, I use two different shampoos, my husband uses a third, I have a cream rinse, shower gel, shaving cream, razor, pumice stone, face wash...
you get the picture.
So how do I store all this and not have a shower that looks like a bad drug store? And especially, HOW DO I STOP THE MILDEW???

because I have well water (no chlorine) it mildews very quickly, so when I was selecting materials for the shower I decided to go with things that I could clean without worry (tile instead of stone). My tile guy used epoxy grout because he heard me say I wanted to be able to use products with bleach to destroy any mildew. The shower is beautiful and no mildew so far, but when it appears, I know I won't ruin the shower cleaning it.

Take a second or two to dry the shelves and bottle bottoms. I always give the niche and shelves a swipe with my hand to get rid of standing water and wipe the bottles with the face cloth. Altogether it takes 10 seconds. I also dry the fixtures to prevent water spots. I just take the towel I'm using to dry myself and wipe the fixtures. Again, ten seconds or even less. It just becomes a routine.

Yes you have a lot of products, but if you get a dispenser with 4 slots you are cutting down the number by four and that helps. Each slot has a label spot for you to mark what is in it. I really like mine a lot. Since they are about $21 it's worth a try. I am thrilled to be rid of the bottles with the gunky bottoms. But I still have a can of shaving gel. My niche is Swanstone and I haven't had any gunk problems....it seems to dry quickly since I leave the fan running until the shower is almost dry.

I ordered mine a few days ago, but had not seen the nose one. That would be a huge hit with my sons! I am not sure it is the look I am trying for though ;)
I ordered a 3 bottle one, but had not seen the 4. Each son has his own shampoo and conditioner (as do dh & I). This will cut down on clutter. I think I may have them share hair stuff for the future and put body wash in the 3rd holder. They are 7 & 8.5 and do not have so much hair, so why is our shower full of products for them? lol.... I can't wait until we redo our master bathroom, so my stuff can finally move in there (makeup and hair styling stuff). It is so ugly and the sink does not work, so we basically use it for the toilet alone until it gets redone... any day now... I would love to not have small people come in and use the facilities while I am blow drying or putting on makeup. I need somewhere that is not taken over by the males of the house, lol....

Someone in my house transfers the shampoo that comes in Walmart size bottles (that look ugly) into three or four cute nice looking bottles. I don't know if it's easy or hard to do. I just enjoy it. There are always a few different shampoos available. Makes me feel like I'm living in a really good hotel.

With a number of small bottles, we can use them all up gradually, and they get replenished all at once. It's good to have several to use, as switching shampoo from time to time is good since each new one cuts down the kind of buildup that the last one was not good at. (same with detergents and soaps, btw).

I do the same as dedtired. Drying the shelves and the bottles is not very time consuming. When I squeegee the door I also squeegee the walls to avoid any mildew in the grout. Maybe I'm going a little overboard but I live in a humid climate so avoiding mold and mildew is a concern of mine in any room.

When you redo the bathrooms, if you want to have niches built in, you'll see advice on this forum from the tile guys on how to do them right. I believe they make sure there is a certain degree of tilt so water doesn't pool on the surface.

There are also bottle holders (not dispensers), but with the number of bottles you're talking about, it might start to look like a soda fountain.

The key thing you're looking for is drainage, so maybe something like this pole with wire racks would look okay and do the job...

I have been thinking about the wire shelves. Am I correct in assuming that the people who have mentioned them have them and like them? do they rust out?
My other thought is to keep a waterproof basket for the bottles and take out what I need before I get in the shower (I don't wash my hair daily) and put it away after. Does anyone do that?

I have the Ginger shower baskets. No rust.

You could always transfer shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. into decorative bottles, which would probably be easier that toting the shower stuff in and out of the shower daily.

Found these recently and couldn't be more excited! I don't like the idea of mounting something to the tile and I have a great new niche in the shower so these are perfect. I can't figure out how to post photos from my personal shower so I'll just give you the link to the company.
