We recently moved into a house with stained blue carpet in the bathroom (yetch). I want to retile, paint or gel stain the vanity and update the fixtures and shower enclosure.

Here are some pics of the bath:

On the floor I want to use these wood look tiles in a lattice with the cream tiles between:

I found these tiles and like them for the tub surround a walls, but I am not sure what to use where. The cream tile on the right comes in 13 x 13 and 20 x 20 as well as bull nose. Should I get a larger peice of the emprador marble for the shower seat or tile it? how can I work in the basketweave? I am thinking chrome fixtures as the sinks have somewhat nice faucets and I am using chrome elsewhere in the house.

Also any ideas about paint color and what to do with the weird drywall pole between the shower and tub would be appreciated. My husband really likes the mirrored door (it leads to the closet), so it has to stay, it is his only request, plus it is GLUED to the drywall. Thanks!
