Appliances help

Hello everyone, new to Gardenweb and wow! What a lot of information I've learnt here. Lots more to learn I am sure.

I am re- doing my entire kitchen but no changes in the layout in terms of the placement of the appliances. I do have flexibility in having a larger fridge as I am extending a wall.

Induction range: I was leaning towards a gas range as ignorant me never knew induction existed! Thanks to Gardenweb I am more informed. I am now leaning towards induction but want a free standing range (vs a slide in) due to replacement concerns. The slide in looks much better than the free standing. I noticed that Bosch has a slide in that will fit into a free standing spot. Has anyone done this with no spacing issues? Are there other brands to consider for this option? Bosch is quite pricey although if I had to suck it up and pay, I will.

Fridge/freezer: I've looked at various options and still did not find anything that would provide larger fridge space other than the all fridge and all freezer option. Then I read another thread that instead of doing this option, which means running two compressors, I should consider a 48" built in. My concerns with built in has always been the replacement issue as I wouldn't know how long this appliance will last. I've heard horror stories of difficulties filling the built in hole years later. Are built in dimensions fairly standard in that they have not varied much in previous years and likely won't in the future? Also concerned with the overall look as this would be the only built in part in the kitchen.

Thoughts and recommendations anyone? Your help and experience is greatly appreciated.
