We agree with Darzy, they will look great together! Looks like there are enough dark tones in the stump to balance out the finish on the bed.

I would use a stump on one side and a swing arm lamp above it. On the other side I would use a nightstand with a lamp, or a different table with a lamp.

I agree that they would look great! And an area rug would also be a great touch - look at Capel.com - they have stores in many sites or Target.com. If you add pictures of your room, I am sure you will get other ideas that may help you.

You can never go wrong adding interesting, tasteful elements to a space. I think it would look great. You will turn your bedroom from modern traditional to modern eclectic.

Thanks for all the input! There's actually a huge wall mirror that will be behind the head board in between two windows (it used to be a workout room) that I'm going to cover with curtains. The walls are light grey blue and I'm thinking of using a tan, grey and navy palette with the natural wood tones. I'm trying to keep it somewhat modern and clean, but I love the natural look as well. Anymore unique ideas? I'm working with a clean slate!

I'm not diggin the mirrored walls. How about covering with cork squares? Just sticky tape them so the mirrors are there for later...if you want. Or...rolled cork..then stagger the seams in a cork "brick" pattern.

What are you doing on the windows? I would not recommend curtains if they will be on the mirror...perhaps shutters or shades maybe bamboo shades with a contemporary lambrequin or cornice in one of the darker shades of your palette? If you do not want to remove the mirrors you could also use shutters there or hang a large piece art directly on the mirror and ignore it ...the mirror becomes a background and pretty much disappears.or put sheetrock over it and paint it like the walls. Personally I think art hung on a mirrored wall is stunning in any decor. I am attaching 3 photos to give you ideas.

I actually wanted to put a piece of art over my bed, but didn't even think about it with the mirror. The windows already have wood blinds. The bed will be situated in front of the wall mirror between two of these windows. I was just going to put up curtains that would cover the windows and the mirror behind the bed, and just keep the curtains in font of the windows open. I can't take the mirror down or sheet rock over it (I dont think... I'm renting) so I'm trying to find the best way to work with it, by either covering it up or just making it so people wont be drawn to it when they walk in. Thanks for all the helpful advice!!

The sheet rock would not have to be permanent. There are a couple of ways to attach art to a mirror without invading the mirror depending on the weight of the art. Carolyn's idea would be one of the safest. :)

Hi, I like the bed and think your palette choices are good . I do think the reclaimed wood would work (lots of alliteration there ! lol ) and as long as you stick to natural theme as in leather , wood, wool, etc it shoul all work well. How about sneaking in some chic nautical accent pieces in silver to finish off room ?

The room is big, so I will be including a sitting area with two modern leather chairs and some sort if coffee table. I will be adding a work space as well, but like the look of a work table instead of a desk. Something simple and sleek. I'm going to add some black and white pop style pictures as well as., maybe, an orange and blue tone painting to give the room some pop. Right now it's still empty! Waiting for the bed to get here and I'll work from there!! Thanks for all the ideas so far!

Hi Ken -- The mirrored wall gives you some unique lighting opportunities. Lights behind a sheer curtain could give you a cool glow -- you could run a rope light under the bed as well. And if sheers aren't mod enough, I'd be tempted to try some sort of textured acrylic panel and bounce the light off of the mirror behind that, even if there's a border of mirror showing. See what you can come up with, and show us your results!
