My new 30" LP Berta is installed and working. It's very shiny and cute. I had to have the appliance tech come out as initially the rangetop burners were not working correctly. The salesman who worked with my GC to install it had put the burners together wrongly.

First meal is ready to eat-black beans and rice is about to be served. The burners are easy to light and oh so sensitive. I can go from a full flame to a mild simmer easily.

I've tested the oven temps with a oven thermometer and it seems to be calibrated correctly. My only question is there a way to know when it has come up to the set temperature other than using the thermometer?

I've read all the discussions about the wastefullness of preheating, but until I get used to cooking with Berta, I'd like to know how hot she is.
