Question about moving appliances to a new house

We have appliances (miele DW, Dacor oven and microwave) that are only about 3 years old and we are building a new house. Rather than get new appliances, we thought we'd move the ones they have as they are relatively new and much more expensive than the usual appliances in our current neighborhood, meaning we wouldn't get our money back out of them when we go sell the current house.

I asked the appliance store where they were purchased and they were down right rude about the idea of moving appliances.

Has anyone done this? Any suggestions about who to contact to make the move?

I don't have experience with this, but it is definitely do-able. I would start by asking your moving company.

The moving companies that I've used in the past had different policies about unhooking/hooking-up washers and dryers. If your moving company won't unhook appliances, it is possible that you will have to get an appliance person to come and unhook your appliances, then have the movers move them, and then get the appliance company back to re-hook them.

Finally, you may prefer to start with someone who installs appliances if you don't want your moving company removing a built-in oven from the wall. This may not be something they have experience with and they may damage your cabinets.
