laundry in bathroom?

I'm undergoing a full remodel and am considering moving my washer and dryer from a rather public space into the master bathroom. There will be room for them in the enclosed toilet space. Do any of you have this? Any pictures?

How large is your "enclosed toilet space"? Sometimes resell is an issue. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. We built our home 26 years ago and don't plan on moving EVER. We needed a larger dining room (vs the eat in kitchen area) and didn't need a 15x15 living room since we added a 22x24 den. So, even tho you walk out of the master bedroom (and thru a small alcove hall) directly into the dining room, it fit OUR needs.

Many of the homes I do now have the laundry in the bathroom, but it's usually in the MAIN bathroom-- not the master. The masterbath is supposed to be a form of refuge AWAY from any kind of work!!

I don't have pictures as we are still under construction but I will have my laundry in the kids bathroom.
I really wanted a second floor bathroom (where the bedrooms are). The way it worked out in my plan was to put a small laundry room, separated by a pocket door, in the back half of the kids bathroom. It seemed a little weird to do it this way at first, but I figured that I might have a chance of getting the kiddos to at least put their dirty clothes in the general vicinity of the laundry.

I did some more sketches today and we walked around the space tonight, and I think what we'll end up doing is moving the toilet, and making that space a laundry room, and creating a new enclosed toilet space a few feet away on what is now one end of a long closet. It will make the closet smaller, but with a little re-design (double rods), it will still be more than adequate.

monicakm, I am not concerned about resell, since I also don't intend to move EVER either! I'll leave the house to my nephews, and they will have to worry about that part.

    Betty...
For what it's worth. We have a laundry room leading into the powder room. I know it sounds funky, but it works. Our cabinet maker designed cabinets to completely enclose the washer and dryer. The upper cabinets go up almost to the ceiling and then down to a granite counter top. Just below the counter top, the washer and dryer fit into 2 cabinets with butter fly doors that open and then slide into the sides of the cabinets.
When the washer and dryer are not in use, you can walk into the powder room and this laundry room serves as an entrance to the bathroom. It has a small barrel ceiling. Sorry I don't have pictures of this yet, but will in a few weeks.

We are giving serious thought to moving our laundry from our kitchen to the master bath we are adding. I think it would work well for us though I can see how moving it near to the family bath might be preferable.
