I would take Electrolux over Whirlpool/KA.

We took the same journey you had. Originally had been set on a KitchenAid (whirlpool is the same company) but after evaluating Electrolux, KA, Wolf & Bosch we are focused in on Bosch. I read everything I could here then spoke to a few local appliance shops that gave me pros/cons on all.

For us the Bosch looks like the choice and we are narrowing between the 500, 800, or the Benchmark with side door opening.

i went with the benchmark side opening oven and the 240v speedoven microwave. I'm so happy with my choices. I'm 2 weeks in, and they are performing as expected.

Can you share how large the cut out needs to be for the 30" Benchmark? Our 27" Thermador from 2002 committed suicide and we need to replace it. There are better choices in 30" and I am attracted by a side opening door. If I get a good cabinet maker in here, I think that I might be able to squeeze in a 30".
