Cheapest/Best Vent Hood Wolf 36' Range

I have searched the forum and have not found an answer to this question, so please forgive me if it is here and I have overlooked it. Looking for a vent hood that would be adequate and the cheapest (I understand it won't be cheap - but the cheapest/adequate) 36" vent hood - stainless steel wall mount for a 36" Wolf 4 burner gas range with an infrared grill in the middle.

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions!

The consensus forum answer to your question is Kobe.

A Japanese company that manufactures in Taiwan.

The most functional design from Kobe is the RA0236SQB RA-02. Becuase it is 24 deep for good capture area and it comes with an internal 1000cfm blower for $1128.

The Wolf version we are looking at is $2,000 with motor. Seems worth the extra $ to get a matching Wolf hood...

Well if you think so... it's your money. Some of us have other priorities to spend ours on, rather than "matching" appliances.

I'm not saying it simply because they match, but if you're going to spend the $1200 the other poster mentioned, why not get the one the range top manufacturer recommends?

    $1128 is not $1200.

$878 or so is not irrelevant.

What the range top manufacturer "recommends" is irrelevant.

Because they will always ask you to pay a premium for their branded stuff. Usually just rebadged from a dedicated hood manufacturer.

I just ordered a 30" Bluestar rangetop and am doing the same search for a hood.

One thing to note is that if you have a 36" rangetop, you might want to consider a 42" hood, rather than a 36" hood. The extra width does not add much to the cost of the hood (usually) and will improve your ability to capture grease, heat, etc.

Although I haven't bought it yet, I've pretty much settled on the Kobe that Deeageaux identified above. I haven't found anything with similar specs that is in the same price range. The Kobe also gets good reviews on gardenweb.

What Wolf model can you get for $2000? I have looked at most of the major brands and it is very difficult to find a hood with sufficient power for $2000. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but I'm wondering if we are comparing apples to apples.

I put a 36 inch 600 cfm XO hood with a 36 inch monogram cooktop. Probably not adequate to most people here but it seems to work for me.

i bought a 36' wolf rangetop and decided not to spend the extra money on the wolf hood. I bought a SIRIUS hood for almost half the cost of the wolf one, and it is also more powerful. (1200 CFM's). The model I purchased is SU5436X
