Thoughts on this package

Some people might have seen my post on the renovation forum, for those who didn't I am closing on house in a month and going to do a large addition which will include a new family room and kitchen. This is the package I plan on finalizing this week.

Sub Zero pro 48 with overlay

48 inch wolf cook top, I want grill but said it's a pain to clean and to go with griddle.

Wolf double oven e series

Wolf warming drawer

Sub Zero 427 wine fridge

Wolfe microwave

Bertazoni K48 conx

One of my questions pertains to the bertazoni hood, it is 600 cfms which I read 150 cfm per foot is ok. Any other thoughts welcome.

Sub Zero pro 48 with overlay

    IMO best fridge out there.

    Wolf double oven e series

    Top notch performance. Excellent choice.

    Wolf warming drawer

Solid choice, no need to change to something else.

    Sub Zero 427 wine fridge

    Top notch,arguably best in class.

    Wolf microwave

Rebadged Sharp. If you are willing to pay premium for Wolf door skin or are getting a deal on it go for it.

    48 inch wolf cook top

Wolf does not make a 48" cooktop but a 48" rangetop.

This is not what I would expect an owner of a 1998-2005 Porche 911 to own.

    Wolf Rangetop

    Capital Culinarian Rangetop

    Bluestar RNB Rangetop

    Bertazoni K48 conx

Very sleek euro-design but has no mechanical capture. Plus it has mesh filters. These work best on low powered hoods, say 400cfm or less. For higher powered hoods you want baffles. I have never heard of the 150cfm/ft rule. Does not make sense since you can have vastly different power levels within those feet. Rule of thumb is 1cfm per 100 btu. Total btu's on rangetop 100k btu you want a hood with 1000cfm. Not a hard iron clad building code just rule of thumb.

IMO without getting into silly expensive hoods

Best Peformance with really good fit and finish Prestige Hoods

Best fit and finish with really good performance Independent Hoods

A good runnerup on both counts Modern Aire.

There is a store, whose owner post here alot, who sells a high performance hood made by Modern Aire and he gives a discount if you buy a Culinarian and Modern Aire at the same time. Link below.

You did not mention a dishwasher but considering all the TOL stuff you are getting I guess you want the best too.

Best- Miele Futura Diamond,it has all an appliance geek would ever want.

Really Good- Miele Futura Dimension, it has all you really need.

Thanks for the feedback, the thing that makes Wolfe and sub attractive is rt now the more pieces you buy it increases the rebate amount. As far as the bertazoni goes I really like that look and even best does not make something this sleek IMO, though I know the best is better suited for the Wolfe. I heard it also depends how much duct work there is. I was going to do the asko dishwasher.

Rebates. I would much rather get the combo of a Wolf(No E at the end)hood and Culinarian rangetop than the Berta hood and Wolf rangetop. The differnce in performance between Wolf and Culinarian is much greater than, say, the performance of the SZ Pro 48 and a KitchenAid 48 built-in.

The rangetop is where you do most of your cooking and cooking is the key function of the kitchen.I would hate to see someone spend so much money on appliances and fall short on performance.

Given the same duct work, a hood with mechanical capture and baffle filters will work much better than a sleek design hood with no mechanical capture and mesh filters.

Like I said in previous post you could get the Culinarian and a really top notch Modern-Aire hood and get $1000 off too.

Miele is far superior in terms of long term durablity and and peformance. Especially if you have water hardness of 4.0 or greater. Asko is better than average but it is not Miele.

You are in the red zone about 8 yards from the goal line might as well get the touchdown.

BTW Do you live anywere near Los Angeles/Chatsworth?

There is a 48" Culinarian Rangetop with thermo-griddle at a scratch'n dent place for $2500.

It is described as having slight cosmetic flaws.

    Like Below.

Of the items you mentioned, we own 3:
    1) 48" Wolf rangetop: Love it. We had one in our previous home and bought one again for our recent remodel. You will not be disappointed. Consider it the Mercedes of rangetops. But all irrelevant car analogies aside, this is one first class cooking appliance.
    2) Wolf double ovens (L): Also highly recommended.
    3) Wolf warming drawer: We rarely use it, but it does its job well.

My wife's dream fridge was the Sub 48Pro (glass door). But besides it's incredibly high price, it simply didn't work decor-wise with our new kitchen. We went instead with the Sub BI48 (integrated). It is probably my favorite single kitchen appliance.

I do agree with dee that the Miele is probably a better choice for DW than Asko. (I have 2 Mieles in my kitchen; my cousin has an Asko in hers. There's no comparison.)
