I've noticed that these department store brands of cookware are very good looking, but the aluminum disk at the bottom of the pan is inferior to a triply construction. In other words, these sorts of cookware are not lifelong pots and pans. If you are looking for an inexpensive tri-ply set, check the Sam's and Costco brands. Make certain that any glass lidded cookware you buy has tempered glass. I have several pieces of the Cooks tri-ply cookware. It is excellent cookware. Does not have the aluminum disc on the bottom of the pan. It is tri-ply. I also have the Sam's club tri-ply cookware. I like both equally. As far as I am concerned, both cook and look similar. I also gave a set of the Cooks to my daughter's boyfriend for Christmas. He is a chef and he loves them. I would not hestiate to buy the Cooks.
