I've never had any software like that, but I just use free templates and clip art from the internet.

I have never used or seen the software first hand. But there is so much free clip are (or even very reasonably priced clip art) out there.

I have never had any trouble creating wrappers on my own. I use Microsoft Picture It software. I use a ruler to measure the bar or package to see how large to make the wrapper. I have even found a bar code generator to make a "bar code" to put on the back of the candy bars.

Are you going to start a business making them? Or just for fun?

I'm just doing it for fun, you know Christmas presents and Easter candy and stuff. I have lots of neices and step grand daughters and I like to send them all little surprises once in awhile.

They do make fun gifts.

I have really enjoyed making Jiffy Pop covers also. Those have been well recieved. I used graphics from Snickerdoodle Dreams, or Raggedy Scrappin'. Just love those!

iowagirl - i like doing the jiffypop covers, too. i made them for my coworkers and DH for valentine's day. two of my coworkers are new grandmas, so i put pictures of their grandbabies on them. they were really cute and they just loved them!

Although it is fun to use specific software for making candy wrappers, you don't absolutely need it... all you need is a really basic printing program and a printer. There are many sites on the Internet where you can get free clipart to use. (But I bet you already have some!) Or use some of those digital photos you have been taking - LOL!!

For those of you who want to give wrappers a try before buying specific software, take a look at the tutorial below. It may inspire you to jump in and make a bunch of cute little wrappers for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day,...

Hello everyone! My name is Carol Ann and I have done candy wrapping as a business for over 5 years now. My husband and I have NO OTHER source of income except candy wrapping! So far so good! LOL
I have never purchased candy wrapping software and personally see no need for it. Wrappers are only rectangles which you insert a graphic into.......of course I realize there are those who are not familiar with graphics enough to do it on their own and so the software helps. I use an older publishing program called Micrografx Draw to assemble the wrapper and print. I use other "graphics" programs to create my designs to use when putting the wrapper together. Super easy!
I also CREATE designs and sets of designs to use on candy wrappers....Great Sales all the time!....you might just want to take a look.....

Wow Carol Ann! That is great!! I would like to see some samples of your work, do you have a website? I paid about $50 for my software and everytime I want to do something, I have to go to their website and download. Basically all the software consists of is templates and free use of their graphics on their website. Duh! I should have thought about it more carefully before I bought it. I ended up keeping it. Oh well, I just use it for fun, making suprises for my neices and my husbands grandkids, birthdays, holidays, etc. It is pretty fun.

YOu don't need special software to make these wrappers.

If you need clipart - check out Clipart.com -- they memberships is quite cheap and you can use the clipart without a problem. The clipart they give you is large so then you can size it down to whatever size you need without any distortion.
