I love what you have done...what flooring did you use?

Looks great! Yes, definitely window treatments, roman shades in a fun fabric, Definitely a rug for the living, dining can stay as is, some kind of interesting mirror hung on the dining wall, or could be the leaning floor mirror, a coffee table for the living and a beautiful humongous framed in white print hung above sofa, also could use a side table on the sofa side with a lamp and the chair turned diagonally, a floor lamp in the corner by the window.

Great start -- regret that I am first commenting about the five percent that struck me -- the ceiling fixture in the living room -- as being out of place -- I think you could repurpose this in a closet -- or recommend surrounding it with a simple round shade, vertical sides, same color as ceiling -- next to the ceiling -- if you cannot install a recessed light or several. Alternatively -- track lights -- yes, dated, but you have a "gallery" living room -- so great for artwork that I would expect a gallery track light -- in the center-- two on each side would be too much -- some with crystal lights are sculptural in their own right and would complement the excellent choice of chandelier.

It's difficult to see the dimensions, but I would try the sofa along the window wall, and a chair to either side, or at least try the chair opposite the sofa in the other corner near the window. They are dark, and you may want to add slip covers, if possible, or light pillows, throws, etc. The dark coffee table above is a great anchor, too.

Don't forget a centerpiece on your table -- once you have completed your space a seasonal centerpiece can save time, and money, unless you must have flowers, it would give you the sense that your work life is only a part of what matters most.

When you entertain, you will be the star, unless, of course, you blend into the background with attire in the same colors as this cark and white room. Think of your home as background for your personal style, dress in color, and if you want it to reflect a variety of personal styles, continue with simple, stylish, monochromatic. If however, you want it to stand out, then go a little bolder. With color, with art, with your personal style!!

Above all, keep treating this as one space, not two. There are two functions, but the room is relatively small and needs to feel like one space, no matter what the temporal purpose. The dining room chairs should feel comfortable as side chairs in the living room -- if the sofa is too low, consider raising it a few inches taller with new legs, even real legs on the interior and leg extensions where the existing legs are now. To entertain three others, plus you, one of the dining room chairs will be pulled into the living room area. If you do not have a fourth chair, this person will be seated above the other three. Sofas seat two, not three.

Lovely space. Under the dining table add a nice rug in grey and white(and maybe with another color). You could add another color to the room also ( green, orange, yellow or teal are good color choices). Remove th pumpkin from the table and add a vase of flowers, a small plant or a group of 2-3 candles. Add a coffee table and place a big coffee table book and a small plant on top. Add blinds or shutters to the windows in white and add drapery in one of the choices given or mised with grey. Add the same drapes to both rooms or somethi ng similar in color . Add a rug in front of the sofa. Place the small grey armchair in front of the window so that the space is more in balance with the sofa. Add some accent pillows also in the color choice given (something with a flower outline, another bold print or stripes. Add pictures, books , pretty vases , etc to the shelves. Place a big picture above the sofa of an abstract , a big flower picture or a grouping of similar pictures. Add a side table beside the left of the sofa with a nice lamp on top.

Can you find a similar mini chandy that snugs the ceiling for the living area?

I do wish when these questions come up the questees would give a hint as to what colours they prefer...anyway...if it were mine, I'd pick Burnt Apricot mock Shantung silk curtains, and a very over the top rich floral rug in a circular and rectangular style, to place under the round dining table and before the sofa..Then use pillows that were embellished to tie the scheme together..and look for modern art in old gold frames to put in the wall panels, it would look very Parisian Pied a terre....
