This functions like a 'curbless shower', but in fact the shower floor drops by approx. 1-1/2" to accommodate the wood deck. The deck rests on sleepers which allow water to penetrate through the deck onto tile sloping to a central drain. See section detail that i prepared for your reference.

There are specialized drain products for this application, but this construction detail offers a more conventional method employing off-the-shelf products making it more affordable.
