First of all, if you go with Ebay, make sure it's the whole program and not an upgrade from an earlier version of PE Design.

Next, since they are up to v. 6, I would think anyone selling v. 5 would let it go pretty cheap.

Third, why do you want PE Design? Do you plan to digitize original designs? If you are just looking to combine and edit existing designs, check out Embird. It only costs around $100. You can download a free 30 day trial from their website. Embird also has several plug-ins, including a digitizing module, and the plug-ins are very reasonbly priced, too.
