Help with getting wording straight!!

Hi! I just got the Janome 300 e and I'm having trouble getting my words to be straight. I used the grid tool that came with the machine but it just isn't working! I'm embroidering t shirts, baby onsies and canvas bags. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

I think it just takes practice but you really do have to be so careful and make sure you line up and mark where you want it to be and be sure and use the inserts to your hoops.
