I just recently converted my wood burning fireplace into a gas (propane) log burner. It was a tough decision, but I travel quite a bit and when I am gone my wife and kids don't like to haul wood, so this will increase the enjoyment of the fireplace. I want to let everyone know however, that the company I bought the gas log from - fireplacesnow.com - is absolutely HORRIBLE. DO NOT use them. In my haste, I didn't research as thorough as I should, and ultimately got stuck with a non-desirable unit and the worst service I have come across in some time. I have ended up spending more time and money on this little project, all due to the very POOR service I received. Without the gorey details, they don't stand behind the products they sell, don't return phone calls, and do not have any expertise in the gas log business. Their pricing was deceptive, because I have spent much more for extra safety items that weren't included. Anyway, please take my advise and avoid these guys, as it will save you time and money. Best of luck.
