Will be moving soon and doing some home renovations later this year. Trying to get inspiration on design early. We would like light colored walls, likely beige, with light-medium wood floors. The fireplace doesn’t exactly match that.

What options do I have with this fireplace? I would really not like to tear it down/replace it. I have seen a post where someone plastered over it/white-washed it. I am wondering if this is the only option or if someone has done this before? Thank you in advance!
