You biggest concern ,(and advantage being a new build), would be having the weight calculated by an engineer for the floor framing.After recieving the calc's, consider going beyond those figures ,( a little overkill).The reason for this is what you have figured for the live load might change as years go by. An example would be if you originally had laminate counters installed and later on switched to concrete or granite, thats more live load on the floor framing.If you swapped out a standard tub in the future for a monster sized whirlpool tub, that's more live load on the floor framing. Going with concrete overlay or not, it's always a good idea to go overkill on your floor framing/live load requirements to be on the safe side.

This kinda relates, but years ago i cut out a section,18"x18" square, out of an exterior stucco wall. The base coats along with the color coat were apprx. 1".When i cut it out and went to remove it, i was totally blown away at what that 18"x18" piece weighed.I had no idea that it carried that much weight. Cementious based products are heavy!

As stated, make sure your framing system meets or exeeds expected loads.
