Ipe interior floors

We are doing our entire house in 3/4" solid tongue and groove unfinished ipe hardwood floors. Has anyone ever installed unfinished ipe? Some specific questions (1) What do we use (staples, glue, nails with predrilled holes, etc...) to install; (2) When the boards are cut, do we need to apply something to prevent splitting, like with ipe decking; (3) Is there any advice on sanding besides wearing protective masks; (4) What products are best to finish it with?

We're installing pre-finished Ipe on our main floor and I heard that it is quite difficult to install unfinished ipe because finishing the wood onsite requires a lot of work due to the way it absorbs the finish . The holes should be predrilled. Is there a reason why you opted for unfinished wood?
