Entryways are typically a main focus and a prelude to what is inside your home and your soul. From your link it appears you appreciate contemporary. Perhaps a front door that is predominantly glass and a retractable screen door so that you can open the door to allow air flow in the warmer months. Not knowing what is beyond the windows on either side of the walkway, some glass sliders (6X6 or 9X9) from the same manufacturer (for a coordinated appearance) and that can be opened for airflow, with retractable screens. In the warmer months they will allow the airflow, in the winter they can be closed but allow tons of light. Check out Pella and talk with a rep, they can do all sorts of things. This would allow you to have all your doors open in the summer without fear of unintended visitors. Hi, The home inside is Modern and Contemporary, Whites, Greys, Black granites, Can lights throughout, the trimworks and doors is painted semi gloss white, as picking up the white cabinets. So As you predicted, The doors will be white both inside and outside. I have posted another question here on Houzz after being stuck what to do with the blinds for the inside, depending what types of doors. I prefer to have it matched as the windows, (same openings of how blinds will do) I am thinking of sticking with all sliding glass doors, (slimline as one said will maximize the sunlight inside from outside) I started looking at types of company that makes doors, after getting brochures and catalog requested mailed to me. I prefer to have no wood (rots and other issues) The choice is limited with certian things on my list, phantom screens. As Pella has Casements that I love for 2 reasons: 1 has pleated blinds opening up and down and hidden screens! (less likely of replacing them and rust on frames! Just nice and sleek! I like a lot of what I see. The ramp has an Asian feel, as does the house. Take off the shutters. Paint the support column the gray of the house. While you are at it, paint the drain pipe(s) the gray of the house. Paint all the horizontal siding under the entry white and leave the door what looks like purple. Bring the black bench out into the yard. I would do a white stone on the pathway, leading to the now white siding. To the right of the front door, choose a Japanese maple that will grow up and fill up that space. To the left of the front door, look into this plant. You probably will need at least 2. If changing the door to have the hinges on the other side or to swing out is not an option you would choose, consider building a box shelf left of the sink from the ceiling down to just below door top level to act as a "stop" for the door.
