Craftsman Garage Door Opener Light Not Working

After about 2 mos. the light control on the wall console of my new Craftsman 139.53985D garage door opener no longer works. The LED remains off and the button will not turn the light on/off. The light does turn on when the door opens/closes and stays on for the programmed time limit. Is there a simple reset or is something broken?

The fact the light works when you operate the door just about eliminates everything except the wall button. If your opener is 2 months old it will be in warranty.

You may have the wires crossed. There are two wires to this control. Try switching them. You can't dammage anything in the process. It may fix your problem. Dan
