GDO only opens 1 foot and stops

Hello everyone! I have a 1/2 hp craftsmen GDO that for the most part seemed to work fine. Till a few days ago I press the remote or the wall unit and the GDO only goes up about 1-1 1/2 ft up and stops.I checked the travel and the gears, every things seems to be fine. Am I over looking something or does the door need balancing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
