We recently purchased a sectional and are now trying to decide the appropiate size for an area rug. The sectional is L-shaped measuring 106 x 106. Do we go with an 8 x 10 or a 9 x 12? Overall room measurement is 16'2" x 16"5".

Is there a general rule of thumb...front legs on the rug, back legs off? Furniture on or off the rug?
