Black hardware.

I love the look of black hardware. My cabinets and backsplash are white, my counters are black granite and my floors are dark wood. My kitchen faucet is chrome, and we need to order hardware. My husband thinks we should do satin nickle because it will match our stainless steel appliances. I like black because of the vintage look it gives the kitchen. Is there a right or wrong way to do this?

Hi! Thanks for the question. Actually, this kitchen is a great example of how to do it. Keeping the dark hardware only on the cabinetry and using the silver tones of stainless appliances on metal elements such as faucet and lighting. There is no hard and fast rule. It's more a matter of striking the right balance to create a multi-layered look. Some people need to see everything "matchy matchy", but I think that mixing it up creates a far more interesting room in the end.

Thank you so much for responding! I really did not want the matchy matchy look either. We have ordered the dark hardware for all the interior doors and cabinets. So far the look is exactly what I was dreaming of. Again, thank you for your response.
