I Love the wall behind the door!! Is it actual concrete or a tile? Is there a tile that can give me that look?

This wall has a concrete overlay on top of plywood.
As it is a curved wall, tiles would have been problematic, and not achieved the look we were after.
Strips of stainless steel were inset as a design detail that was consistent with finishings elsewhere in the home. The fin wall extends to the exterior adding dimension and continuity between the outdoors and the interior entrance area.

We designed the door and had built locally for this project.
Leadwin Doors in the Greater Vancouver area (British Columbia, Canada)
currently manufactures all of our doors.

As in many of our projects, it is a custom design of our own. It is a 2 1/2" thick slab with black walnut veneer over engineered core, 54 inch pivot door. The hardware was also custom manufactured with marine grade stainless steel, as it is in a seaside location.

As for suggestions for your project in East Hampton, NY - are you looking for someone to consult on the design on the project as a whole or for ideas on an entryway for your project?

Please let us know, and we would be happy to consult if that is what you wanting.

    Thank you for your interest!

Hi, just wondering how the concrete colour was achieved? I'm located in Australia & my Italian husband is pouring a concrete slab patio & I haven't been able to find out how to achieve this look. Thanks in advance.

Could you clarify whether you are inquiring about the floors or the fin wall behind the door?

If you are inquiring on the floor, below is my response:

In the photo above, the floor is concrete with a decorative cement based coating called ARDEX SD-M.
It can be customized to achieve the look you are trying to achieve, whether in a residential or commercial space.

This floor has a specific shade made up for the client, which allows them to specify if they want it lighter or darker, more blue or more gray, and so on.

Samples are specifically developed for approval on each project, allowing it to be suited to the design, aesthetic and environment of the home.

System One Floors helped us on this project.

The fin wall was poured in place concrete, with stainless steel inlay.
I am not sure tile would give you the look, as this wall curves some.
There is a tile / slate product that is very thin that we applied on the fireplace in this same home. Ask your local supplier about it.
